a wooden box= cool personalized gift idea

I just got back from my sister, Libba's, wedding shower.  It was beautiful and exciting.  I can't wait for her wedding this coming September!!

Until then, I have a new gift idea to share....

My two other sisters (yes, there are four of us!) decided to go in on a group gift together.  We wanted to put together a basket full of some of our favorite kitchen/cooking supplies. 
Now, Libba is my stylish sister.  She has an eye for all things pretty and cool, so there was a lot of pressure to impress her with our gift presentation.

That's where Etsy came in. At a great little shop called Emerson Woodworks, I found the coolest wooden box.  For $16, Emerson Woodworks will make you a personalized crate handcrafted from reclaimed lumber. 
We requested that our box have my sisters new married name on it, "Burke" and underneath we had printed, "est 2012".  It looked awesome; we couldn't have been happier with it.

This was the first purchase that I've made from Emmerson Woodworks, but it won't be the last.  I love the idea of sending one of these boxes as a new baby present (with the child's name and the year of their birth) and filled with some new baby essentials.  I think it would also make a great box for toys in  a children's' room or playroom. 

Also, in terms of customer service, this shop was so easy to deal with.  They sent me a proof of my stencil request and the finished product was on my doorstep about two weeks after I put the order in. 

Bottom line: these boxes are awesome!!
