My amazing little niece, Avery, turns 1 today. She is the cutest little lady with a huge smile and big bright eyes. For her big day I wanted to show her how special (and cool!) I think she is; so I put together a little care package to send her way. In doing this I also incorporated my obsession for applique one more time. I guess I just can't get enough- but it's so easy, and the results are always great, so why wouldn't I?!?
This time I went to my local second hand baby clothes store and picked up a stylin' jean jacket for a mere $6. I then used my favorite technique to personalize the piece and spunk it up a little bit for this cool little girl.
Nothing goes better with a cool kid jacket than a killer pair of kicks. I bought this pair off of Zappos (got to love the overnight shipping!) for Miss Avery to rock with her new jean wear.
I think it makes for a pretty awesome combo. Definitely a statement look.
Side note: while I was at the second hand store I also picked up a few pairs of jeans for my own little bebe, June. I think I might keep up the applique theme and add some stars or other shapes in cool fabrics to the knees. I'll keep you posted.
